The excursion starts from most points throughout Pelion and more specific Volos.
It is a daily excursion and gives you the opportunity to get to know and to travel with the famous small train of Pelion, that was originally manufactured in 1895. With this tour you have the opportunity to enjoy a journey on some of the most characteristic railway tracks of the world, 60 cm width, a project know for its high aesthetics and morphological harmony of the structure. It has been manufactured by the Italian engineer Evaristo Nte Kiriko, father of famous painter Tzortzio Nte Kiriko.
Our “retro”- travel begins from the station of Ano Lehonia, from where we are boarding the small train know as 'moutzouris'. From here the adventure begins, with a duration of the journey1 and 30 hour you will view some of the most unique hidden secrets of the region. Once reaching the railway station of Milies you can follow the traditional path towards the centre of village. You are invited then to visit the Library and the Church, featuring some outstanding architecture. Once taking in the beauty of this area you will board the bus continuing to the village Vizitsa. Once at Vizitsa you will experience the cuisine at a traditional Greek Tavern, combined with this dinner there’s the chance also to visit traditional sight seeing areas. Early afternoon you will return back to your resort.
The excursion with the small train of Pelion can be combined with the excursion of walking to Pinakates and a tradition dinner or coffee in the village of Agios Georgios.
